Acidity
Acidity, often referred to as acid reflux or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), occurs when stomach acid flows back into the esophagus. This can cause a burning sensation in the chest (heartburn), a sour taste in the mouth, and discomfort. It can be triggered by certain foods, stress, or lifestyle factors.
Causes of Acidity:
- Dietary Habits: Spicy, fried, or fatty foods, citrus fruits, chocolate, caffeine, and alcohol can trigger acidity.
- Lifestyle: Smoking, stress, and a sedentary lifestyle contribute to acidity.
- Medical Conditions: Obesity, pregnancy, and certain medications can increase the risk.
- Eating Habits: Eating large meals, lying down immediately after eating, or eating late at night can trigger symptoms. Gastroenterologist in South Mumbai
