Dr Sameet Patel is a young gastroenterologist who believes in the old adage 'that the secret of patient care lies in caring for the patient'. His professional life is shaped by this simple truth.
Upon his return from London after doing a clinical observership in treatment of liver diseases and Inflammatory Bowel Diseases at the 'Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry' he was honoured by his colleagues and peers with the prestigious and rare 'Young Achiever Award'.
Dr Sameet has many laurels to his credit. He secured the All India first rank at the Doctorate of National Board in Gastroenterology (DrNB) and was awarded the S K Sama Gold Medal by the President of India.
He also secured the TYSA All India First Prize in Gastroenterology and also received the All India Best Orator Award at TYSA.
Dr Sameet has done his DM Gastroenterology and DrNB Gastroenterology from the prestigious T N Medical College and Nair hospital where he also worked as an Assistant Professor of Gastroenterology. He has also completed his MBBS and MD General Medicine from the same prestigious T N Medical College and Nair Hospital, Mumbai.
He has the additional qualification of ESEGH (European Speciality Examination in Gastroenterology and Hepatology).
Dr Sameet Patel has done Clinical Observations at the Royal London Hospital and Queen Mary University of London in Hepatology and Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
Dr Sameet is an invited faculty at National and International forums and has participated in numerous academic deliberations and research and teaching programs. He has publications in national and international journals.
Dr Sameet's expertise lies in treating patients with Liver disease, Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, pancreatic diseases and other diseases of the stomach, intestines, gallbladder and biliary system.
He has 5 years of experience in the field of Gastroenterology and performs various procedures including endoscopies like Gastroscopy, Colonoscopy, ERCP and Endoscopic Ultrasound. He also performs motility studies including Oesophageal, Anorectal Manometry and Biofeedback.
He is a member of Indian Society of Gastroenterology (ISG), Indian National Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (INASL) and Indian Pancreas Club (IPC).
